Windshield Rock Chip Repair

What is a windshield rock chip repair?

A windshield repair is a process that combines modern technology with human skill to repair stone damage on a windshield instead of replacing it altogether.  When our clear structural adhesive resin is injected into the damaged area then cured with a special Ultra Violet light source, the damaged area is repaired restoring the strength and most of the clarity of the previously damaged area.

What kind of damages can be repaired?

Stone damage or stone "chips" up to the size of a quarter.  Best results are obtained when the damage is repaired right away, before contamination occurs from car washing, road grime, or inclement weather.  We cannot perform windshield repair on damage previously "repaired" by the customer or another repair service.

Why repair my windshield?

Repairing a damaged windshield makes sense for many reasons. Repairs save money by preventing the need for costly replacement, and are very convenient taking only a few minutes. Repairs are also safe, since the glass is never removed and the original factory seal is maintained. With the rising price of modern automotive windshields and the high rate of faulty installations, windshield repair is a very economical, convenient and safe alternative to replacing.

What does a repair cost?

A small fraction of what you would pay for a replacement! The windshield on a modern car or SUV can cost from $300 to $500, a lot more if it has an antenna, defroster, sensor or other technology built into it. The average cost to repair a windshield is $60.

BUYER BEWARE
Exercise caution when having
an "auto glass replacement" company do your repair.
Most replacement companies will discourage a repair preferring the more profitable
windshield replacement. Unfortunately, insurance companies continue to ste
er their
customers to nation-wide auto glass replacement shops, where windshields that could
have and should have been safely and economically repaired are instead
replaced.
